Dr
Fabio Turatti is a passionate and creative scientist, manager, lifehacker and leader. Immediately after completing university, Fabio left Australia for the ever sleepless city of Milan, Italy, where he fell in love with photography, fashion, food, coffee and culture. These passions were only matched by his love for science and the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
During his time abroad, Fabio gained significant professional experience in developing, managing and progressing novel high-innovation technology platforms. He specialised in the fields of antibody discovery and validation, novel antibody-based platform design and clinical translation. Fabio has since become an energetic, adaptable and creative thinker.
After almost ten years abroad, Fabio returned to Australia in 2007 and was employed as Research Manager of a small recombinant antibody company developing high value clinical products for oncology diagnosis and therapy. He was responsible for leading the company’s research portfolio and novel technology platforms. During this period, Fabio also led the preclinical and translational efforts of the company.
In 2011, Fabio moved to a small emerging diagnostic company as Chief Scientific Officer. In this role, he brought his expertise in biotech strategy, intellectual property and lead development to the company’s diagnostic pipeline. In 2012, Fabio will lead this company’s technical team to the clinical translation of their first diagnostic product. Fabio also consultants to small start-up companies on managing R&D strategy, managing and expanding IP portfolios and budget control.
Outside of the biotechnology and high innovation start-up scene, Fabio remains a passionate foodie, fashionista and photographer. He is a big supporter of charitable causes. You can normally spot Fabio laughing somewhere in Melbourne’s inner suburbs.
